How to Make Crepes with Chicken

Chicken Mushroom Crepes

Let’s make crepes with chicken and mushrooms today.  Here is a nice salty filling for crepes. It makes an elegant dinner that is good enough to serve to your guests. It is also easy and inexpensive. Here is what you are going to need to do for this:

Chicken and Mushroom Crepes

Ingredients:

  • 4 crepes (2 per person)
  • Butter and olive oil, for cooking
  • 4 ounces sliced mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 cups shredded chicken

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Crepes:
    • Have 2 crepes per person ready.
  2. Cook the Mushrooms:
    • In a large skillet, melt some butter with a splash of olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced mushrooms and brown evenly, stirring occasionally. Set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce:
    • In a separate pan, melt 1/4 cup of butter. Whisk in flour and cook, whisking constantly, for about 3 minutes until the flour is lightly browned. Slowly whisk in the milk and add Dijon mustard. Season with salt and pepper. Whisk constantly over medium heat until the sauce thickens.
  4. Combine and Heat:
    • Return the cooked mushrooms to the sauce. Add shredded chicken and mix well. Heat through.
  5. Assemble the Crepes:
    • Spoon some of the chicken and mushroom filling into the center of each crepe. Roll the crepes into a ‘cigar’ shape.
  6. Plate and Serve:
    • Place two filled crepes side by side on each plate. Spoon additional filling on top if desired.
  7. Enjoy your Chicken and Mushroom Crepes!

    I really can not answer that as I have no idea where you are. I can assume it would not be expensive if you can find chicken and mushrooms for a good price. Currently I am living in Vanuatu where a pound of chicken breast costs $25 USD. So< i do not cook with it! Thank you very much for stopping by! Mary Ann
