Recipe for Barbeque Sauce – Chili Barbecue Sauce

Here’s another great barbecue sauce made with chili sauce – ketchup with a kick! It is a little spicy and very tasty. Use it on chicken, pork or beef. If you do not preserve it, cool it down completely and use it within two weeks. Here is what you need for this:

2 – 12 oz. bottles chili sauce
1 ½ cups light corn syrup
1 – 12 oz. bottle beer
4 tablespoons Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons chili powder
1/8 cup soy sauce
2 teaspoons cayenne

• Place all ingredients in a heavy pan. Whisk until well blended. Bring to a boil and simmer for 30 to 35 minutes, until sauce thickens and turns dark – like bottled sauce. Stir occasionally.

• If preserving for gifts, heat jars per instructions and fill with sauce. If not, cool down completely and refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.

• Enjoy!

    Hi Don!
Thank you so much for coming by. Here is an image of the chili sauce I am talking about:

I have no idea if they have it in Canada. Chili sauce is made from a variation of chilies, spices and tomatoes. You could go ahead and use ketchup and some hot sauce if you would prefer. Personally, I would start by making the BBQ sauce with apple juice first. I think you will love it! Hope this helps! I am very grateful for your support! Take care!
