Salad Greens & Apples Salad

Here’s a salad that is not only loaded with flavor it is also good enough to make for company! You can go ahead and candy your own walnuts – check out how to do so here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cb_cQcyADzs – or go ahead and use store bought ones. Here is what you are going to need for this:

1 bag salad greens – use whatever ones you prefer
1 large red apple – preferably Gala or Fuji – cut into small pieces
1 cup candied walnuts
1/2 cup diced Cheddar Cheese
Buttermilk Dressing

Simply mix all of the ingredients in a large bowl and toss with the dressing.

For the dressing you will need:
2 tablespoon minced red onion
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup mayonnaise
Salt & Pepper

Place the minced onion and lemon juice in a small bowl and set aside for 5 minutes. Whisk in the sour cream, buttermilk and mayonnaise. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
