Carne Asada Marinade

Here is my carne asada marinade. This is a very popular recipe at our house which will make some terrific carne asada tacos.

You will need to marinate your meat for a minimum of an hour for this recipe but can leave it as long as over night. The longer it sits in the marinade the tastier and more tender your meat will be.

You can make this recipe with flank or skirt steak. Simply make sure that the meat is cut thinly. This way they will cook faster and will be super easy to slice.

This is what you need for this wonderful carne asada marinade:

1 to 2 pounds of thin flank steaks
¼ cup lime juice
¼ cup olive oil
1 large jalapeno
¼ bunch cilantro
4 large garlic cloves
2 TBS white vinegar
1 tsp ground cumin
1 TBS sugar
Salt & Pepper

Rinse and pat dry the meat. Place it in a non-reactive container and add all of the ingredients. Use your hands to coat the entire pieces well. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Remove the meat from the marinade and grill or cook in a large, hot skillet with a little bit of oil.

Serve with rice and beans or in burritos and tacos. Enjoy!

    I marinated carne asada yesterday night cooked it today and it came out so delicous, I made tacos de carne asada cilantro and onion so yummy.. thank you so much for this recipe. cant wait till summer to cook it on the grill… Gracias 🙂

    Thank u so much for the fantastic recipe! Never again will I buy a pre made seasoning for carne asada. My husband and I have made this 10+ times since finding u on you tube. Much tastier and healthier than store bought!
