Simple Sugar Syrup

I always have simple syrup available at my house. I use it to make lemonades, fruit juices, cocktails and desserts. Here is what you need to do for this:

1 cup sugar
1 cup water

Bring the sugar and water to a quick boil and turn off the heat. Allow the syrup to cool down and use it for whatever you want. You can add flavorings to this is you would like. You can also add a little bit of vodka to it if you are using it for cocktails. This will increase its shelf life.

I make simple syrup so my husband can add some to his iced tea and I can have mine unsweetened.
