The fascia is also known as the membrane that you find on the bone side of a rack of ribs. I will show you how to remove the fascia from ribs on this video.
I highly recommend that you go through this extra step when cooking ribs in the oven, on the grill or even in a braise. By doing so you will allow the ribs to marinate better and they will be much easier to eat.
It really is no big deal to do this. All you need to do is separate the membrane from one of the corners, grab it with a paper towel and pull the membrane off. Discard the membrane and you are ready to cook your ribs.
It is possible that the fascia will break. No worries. Separate it at the point it broke and pull again. It is that simple.
