We don’t have to wait for the weather to be warm to eat barbecued ribs. Maybe it is cold outside or maybe you just don’t feel like firing up the grill. Whatever the reason, here is a nice recipe for you to prepare them any day. Baby back ribs cook faster than spare ribs or beef ribs as they tend to be more tender. However, feel free to increase the baking time if you would like. Here is what you need to do for these:
2 racks baby back ribs
2 tablespoons garlic salt
2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon black pepper
BBQ sauce
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Prep you ribs by removing the fascia. Mix all of the dry ingredients and rub the ribs well.
Place the ribs on a roasting pan and cover them with foil. Bake them for 1 hour. Remove them from the oven and brush them lightly with more bbq sauce. Tent with foil again and return to oven for 30 minutes.
Remove the ribs form the oven and turn your oven to broil. Generously brush the ribs with bbq sauce. Broil until the sauce is caramelized, watching the ribs very closely and rotating the pan. Serve with extra bbq sauce and lots of napkins! Enjoy!
WONDERFUL! This is perfect for people to enjoy cooking without breaking the bank. I have found this so encouraging and helpful in the kitchen. The instructions are clear (enjoy the videos) and the ingredients are simple. I have bookmarked this website as favorite. Thank you for the pleasant cooking experience. It’s helped the Taco Bell & McDonalds generation to actually use the kitchen! Would love to see even more. Thank you!

Would this work for pork spare ribs as well? Any idea what the cooking time would be?

July 28, 2011 at 5:49 am
Hi Jess!
Yes, you can use pork spare ribs for this. As they are tougher, I would increase the time by a good 45 minutes to an hour. Thank you very much for coming by! I appreciate it!

Hello,
I can’t wait to try this recipe. quick question though. I see your video is for two racks, but If I wanted to just cook one rack, would the process be as simple as cutting the cooking time by half?

Hi James!
Cut all the ingredients in half for the rub and sauce. However, the cooking time should be pretty much the same. Thank you very much for coming by! Good luck with these!

I love these ribs! Thank You for making this video. I followed it to a T and the ribs were fantastic!!! I was wondering if I were to make 4 racks of ribs at the same time, How much longer would I have to leave them in the oven?

Hi Brad!
I am so happy these worked for you! So happy! OK, as long as you have enough room between your roasting pans – i.e. one on the top rack and one on the bottom – your times should be the same. I would rotate the pans midway the cooking process but that is it. If you want to play it sake, you can go ahead and add another 30 minutes to these. It will just make them more tender. Thank you so much! Have a great Holiday Season!

As my husband & I have had no success at making baby back ribs , we have tried them every way possible …lol. They only way we can get decent ribs is to go to the local BBQ place. I am not giving up on this either, soooo I will let you know how these babies turn out. They smell wonderful so keep your fingers crossed! Talk to you soon! : )

hi mary ann. I would like to try this recipe of yours its looks very delicious, just want to ask honestly my hubby bought me an oven and then the problem is about the temperature is dont know if it is farenheit or celcius because nothing indicated with the knob and those number indicated are till 250, and then max is next so meaning that is maximum right, so how can i cook if you said preheat the oven for 350 then if my oven nothing indicted to ..:-( actually this is my first time to cook with the oven and no idea what is preheat though hope u can help me and i like to watch all ur recipe and to try it so soon, thanks chef
Hi Amy!
Thank you for your message! Your oven is definitely in Celsius degrees. 250 degrees C will be equal to about 480 degrees F. For these ribs you will have to heat your oven to 170 to 180 degrees. That will work beautifully! Good luck with these! Have a great 2013. Take care!
