These air fryer chicken tenders are crisp on the outside and very tender in the inside. We are going to marinate chicken breast strips in a yogurt and lemon sauce for a minimum of 4 hours. We will them mix up some Panko breadcrumbs with spices and grated Parmesan cheese. Once they are coated we will place them in the fryer and cook them fo 12 minutes. Bam! Beautiful. Crisp. Tender. Finger-licking-good!

Although I am using chicken breast for this recipe you can definitely use chicken tenders, of course.

Please don’t stress out if you do not have all the spices that I am using in this recipe. Use the ones you have. The final result will still be pretty fabulous.

Finally, we will make a honey mustard sauce to go with these. It is super easy and really compliments the overall flavors.

Air Fryer Chicken Tenders

1 chicken breast – cut into filets and them into strips OR 1 pound chicken tenders

1/4 teaspoon ground mustard
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 lemon — squeezed
1 1/2 cups plain yogurt
Salt & Pepper

Place the chicken in a container. Add all the spices including salt and pepper. Add the lemon juice and the yogurt. Mix in well. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least four hours.

1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
Salt & Pepper

Place all the ingredients in a shallow dish and mix well with a fork.

Remove the chicken from the refrigerator and take it out of the yogurt. Place the strips into the breadcrumbs and coat the chicken well on all sides.

Preheat the air fryer.

Place the chicken strips in the basket in a single layer. Work in batches. Cook at 360F (182 C) for 12 to 14 minutes.

Remove and serve with honey mustard sauce and ketchup on the side.

1/4 cup mayo
1/4 cup ground mustard or yellow mustard or Dijon
1/4 cup honey
1 Tablespoon white distilled vinegar
1/4 teaspoon prepared horseradish

Place all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk until smooth and mixed well.
