These homemade frozen strawberry Margaritas are refreshing, easy and delicious. They are made with silver tequila and triple sec. Triple sec is an orange liquor and can be substituted by Grand Marnier, Contrieau or Curaçao.
We are going to use frozen strawberries for this recipe. If you want to make this with fresh strawberries go ahead and add ice. You will have to use a high powered blender for this or the ices will not crush completely.
I like rimming the glasses with salt but you don’t have to. The combination of sweet strawberry with the salt is absolutely delicious. I recommend that you do so as well but it is absolutely up to you.
How to make homemade frozen strawberry Margaritas –
1 lime — halved and them sliced
Salt for rimming the glass
1 cup of frozen strawberries
1/3 cup freshly squeezed lime juice
1/2 cup silver tequila
1 oz. simple syrup*
1 oz. triple sec
2 strawberries for garnish – optional
Place salt inside a shallow dish.
Run the inside of the halved lime along the rim of a glass. Dunk the glass into the salt and give it a little twirl. Be careful not to go too heavy on the salt.
Place all of the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Pour into the salt rimmed glasses.
Cut a slit at the end of each strawberry and place it on the edge of the glass. Do the same with a slice of lime.
Serve and enjoy responsibly!
*make simple syrup by dissolving equal parts of sugar in water at low heat. Once it is dissolved, cool down completely and store in the fridge.
