How to pickle garlic –
Pickled Garlic Recipe
Ingredients:
2 cups water
2 cups white vinegar
2 tablespoons non-iodized salt
Optional:
Dill weed
Chili peppers
Peppercorns, mustard seeds, or pickling spices
Peeled garlic cloves
Instructions:
- In a pot, combine 2 cups water, 2 cups white vinegar, and 2 tablespoons non-iodized salt.
- Stir until the salt is completely dissolved.
- Bring the mixture to a boil and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- Remove the pot from heat and allow the brine to cool slightly.
- Prepare a clean jar by adding any optional ingredients like dill weed, chili peppers, peppercorns, mustard seeds, or pickling spices. Fill the jar with peeled garlic cloves.
- Pour the warm vinegar brine over the garlic until the jar is full.
- Let the jar cool completely, then seal it with a lid.
- Refrigerate the jar for 2 to 4 weeks to allow the garlic to pickle.
Note:
The flavor will intensify the longer it pickles.
