How to Make Broccoli Slaw with Apples
I like making broccoli slaw instead of regular Cole slaw sometimes. I use my homemade slaw dressing for both of them and buy the vegetables all cut up at the supermarket.
If you are not fond of mayonnaise based dressings you can go ahead and dress this with Asian style ones. Our soy ginger vinaigrette will go beautifully with this broccoli slaw.
You will have to allow the flavors to meld in this salad so once you toss everything together cover the bowl and refrigerate it for at least one hour. It will taste better.
This is truly a delicious addition to any grilled or oven barbecue foods. It is also a delicious compliment served on pulled pork in sandwiches. Great way to have the kids eat their broccoli. They will not even know it.
Here’s what you need to do for this delicious broccoli slaw with apples and walnuts salad:
In a bowl mix together:
1 package pre-cut broccoli slaw
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 medium apple, seeded and cored, chopped
Cole slaw dressing or any dressing of your choice
Toss well and refrigerate, covered, for a minimum of 1 hour. Enjoy!
