How to Make Italian Meatballs

Italian Meatballs

Italian meatballs with sausage are savory and flavorful, with a rich combination of beef and sausage. The garlic and onion add aromatic depth, while the fresh parsley and Parmesan cheese provide brightness and umami. The Italian seasoning brings the traditional taste of Italy, making these meatballs a perfect comfort food that’s hearty and satisfying.

Whether served with pasta, in a sub, or as an appetizer, Italian meatballs with sausage are sure to be a hit at any meal.

They are also quite easy to make. In this video we made a huge batch for 3 meals – rigatoni and meatballs, Minestrone soup and we froze 1/3 for meatball pizza. Meatballs freeze beautifully! Here is what you need to do for these:

In a bowl mix together the following:

• 1 pound ground sausage
• 1pound ground beef
• 1 pound ground veal – (if you can’t find inexpensive ground beef use 1.5 pounds of sausage
and 1.5 pounds of beef)
• ¾ cups shredded Parmesan cheese
• ¾ cup bread crumbs
• 1 egg
• 1 TBS crushed oregano
• 2 minced garlic cloves (large)
• 2 TBS chopped fresh basil
• 2 TBS grated yellow onion
• Black pepper

Mix well and form small meatballs.
Heat a large skillet with olive oil and fry the meatballs, turning as they brown. Drain on paper towels
