How to Make a Traditional Spinach Salad
This recipe for a traditional spinach salad with bacon and hard-boiled eggs offers a delightful combination of flavors and textures, enhanced by a sweet vinaigrette dressing that ties everything together beautifully.
For the salad, start with fresh baby spinach leaves, known for their tender texture and mild flavor. Toss in crispy bacon pieces that provide a savory crunch and add depth to the salad. Hard-boiled eggs, sliced or chopped, offer a creamy contrast to the spinach and bacon.
The sweet vinaigrette dressing plays a key role, balancing the richness of the bacon and eggs with its tangy sweetness. Typically made with ingredients like olive oil, vinegar (such as apple cider vinegar or balsamic vinegar), Dijon mustard, and a touch of honey or maple syrup, the dressing complements the salad’s ingredients without overpowering them.
To prepare the salad, simply combine the spinach, bacon, and eggs in a large bowl. Drizzle the sweet vinaigrette over the salad just before serving and gently toss to coat evenly. This classic spinach salad is perfect as a side dish or a light main course, offering a satisfying blend of flavors and nutrients.
