How to Make Fish in Brown Butter

Fish in Brown Butter with Capers

Let’s make a fish in brown butter for dinner tonight. We will add some capers, lemon and parsley for a wonderful final result.

This dish can be made with any mild, white fish you have at hand. I used Corvina but Tilapia, Basa, Catfish or Sole would work beautifully here. Make sure you have all you ingredients handy as this will cook fairly fast. Here is what you are going to need:

1 fillet of fish – preferably with skin
2 TBS butter
1 garlic clove – minced
1 large lemon
Chopped parsley
2 tsp. capers
Salt

Rinse and pat fry the fish. Season with salt.

Melt the butter in a skillet. Add the garlic and cook for about 2 minutes until butter starts to brown. Add fish- skin side down.

Cook for about 3 minutes and flip. Cook for another 3 to 4 minutes and, carefully, flip again.

Top with chopped parsley and capers. Remove from heat and serve. Enjoy!

I’m just curious – how does the lemon get used? It’s listed in the ingredients but not in the actual recipe. Thanks:)

    Hi Kerry!
Thank you for pointing this out! I will correct it as soon as possible. You need to add the lemon juice on the fish before you cook it. Have a great week!
