This Halloween chocolate bark is very easy and fun to make. Kids love to get involved in the whole process. It is also delicious. All you need is candy, pretzels, salted peanuts and chocolate.
I am using semi-sweet and white chocolate in this recipe. However, you can use any type of chocolate you like. Use your favorite brand as well.
I like melting my chocolate in a bowl over some simmering water but you can go ahead and melt it in the microwave if you prefer. You have to be careful not to burn the chocolate so take it out every 30 seconds and mix it well before placing it back into the microwave.
This is what you are going to need to make this deliciously easy Halloween chocolate bark:
Makes about 48 pieces
½ cup candy corn or any other yellow and orange candy
½ cup roasted and salted peanuts
1 cup pretzel sticks
1 pound (16 oz.; 500 grs) of semi-sweet chocolate
½ a pound (8 oz.; 250 grs) of white chocolate
Line a cookie sheet with some wax paper and lightly butter the paper with unsalted butter.
Place the semi-sweet chocolate in a heat proof bowl that fits on top of a pot. Add water to the pot and start boiling it. Place the bowl over the water and stir as you melt your chocolate. Once it is completely melted carefully remove the bowl off of the pot and place it on a heat proof surface.
Add the candy, peanuts and pretzels to the melted chocolate. Mix well and immediately dump it on the prepped wax paper. Spread it evenly with a spatula.
While that settles, repeat the process with the white chocolate and melt it over simmering water as you stir it in a bowl. Once it is melted carefully remove it from the over the pot and drizzle it over the prepped chocolate, candies, peanuts and pretzels. Don’t worry if it is not perfect.
Place the pan in the fridge for a minimum of two hours and allow it to harden. Once it is hard, remove it from the fridge and break it up into pieces –as small or large as you want.
Keep the bark in a closed container in the fridge for up to a week.
