How to Make Biscuits and Gravy

Biscuits, sausage and gravy

Here is a nice recipe for breakfast. It is great for brunches as well. If you do not want to go through the hassle of making home made biscuits go ahead and use store bought ones. No sweat! However, if you do want to make the biscuits, I included the link for you at the bottom of the page. Here is what you are going to need to do for this:

Biscuits and Sausage Gravy

This recipe serves 6 people

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 1 ½ tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 ½ tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 12 biscuits (homemade or store-bought), split

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Sausage:
    • Brown the ground sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  2. Prepare the Gravy:
    • In the same skillet, add vegetable oil and flour. Mix well, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the skillet.
  3. Make the Sauce:
    • Gradually whisk in the milk, whisking constantly to prevent lumps. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens to desired consistency. Season generously with black pepper.
  4. Combine and Finish:
    • Return the cooked sausage to the gravy. Mix well until combined and heated through.
  5. Assemble the Biscuits:
    • Split the biscuits horizontally. Place a generous scoop of sausage gravy onto the bottom half of each biscuit. Top with the remaining biscuit halves.
  6. Serve:
    • Serve immediately and enjoy!
