How to Make Peach Cherry Crisp
Let’s make a peach cherry crisp for dessert today.
A peach and cherry crisp is a delightful dessert that combines the sweetness of ripe peaches with the tartness of cherries, topped with a crispy oat and nut mixture. To make this dessert, sliced peaches and pitted cherries are tossed with sugar, a touch of lemon juice for brightness, and sometimes a hint of cinnamon or vanilla for added flavor. This fruit mixture is then placed in a baking dish.
The crisp topping typically consists of a mixture of oats, flour, brown sugar, butter, and chopped nuts like almonds or pecans. This mixture is sprinkled generously over the fruit, creating a crunchy and golden-brown crust when baked in the oven. The contrast between the tender, juicy fruit filling and the crispy topping is what makes peach and cherry crisp so irresistible.
Once baked to perfection, peach and cherry crisp is often served warm, sometimes with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. It’s a comforting and satisfying dessert that highlights the best flavors of summer fruits, perfect for sharing at gatherings or enjoying as a special treat at home.
