How Do I Cook Rice – Steamed White Rice

Cooking rice is one of those tricky culinary things. I can often come out to sticky, mushy or simply undercooked. It does not have to be complicated at all! Here’s a step-by-step video on how to always end up with perfectly fluffy rice.

For perfect rice all the time, follow these instructions and do not uncover the pan until 20 minutes have gone by. Let the rice steam.

Serves four

1 TBS olive oil
1 cup white rice
2 cups boiling water
1 tsp. Salt

Rinse the rice. Heat the oil in a pan. Add the rice and dry it, stirring frequently. Add the water and salt. Bring to a boil, cover, and reduce the heat.

Steam the rice – on low heat – for about 20 minutes. The rice must be fluffy and all the liquid must have completely evaporated. Serve and enjoy!
